Her destiny is not only a biography of a heroine but also a reflection of the complex political and cultural processes occurring in Europe during the 15th century. The story of a simple girl who became an inspirer of an army and a martyr of faith combines elements of mysticism, national idea, and human tragedy. Historical Context and the Birth of a Legend Jeanne d'Arc was born around 1412 in the village of Domremi in northeastern France, during a period when the country was divided and weakened by the Hundred Years' War. The French monarchy was in crisis: a significant part of the territory was controlled by the English and the Burgundians, and the people suffered from hunger and destruction. In this context, the emergence of a charismatic figure promising liberation and the rebirth of the nation was seen as a sign from above. According to chronicles, Jeanne claimed from a young age that she heard voices of heavenly saints calling her to save France and help Duke Charles VII reclaim the throne. Such mystical visions were not uncommon in the Middle Ages, but their combination with political action made Jeanne's case unique. Her mission was not only religious but also of state significance.
